Maybe you’ve thought about it, or maybe you haven’t. Perhaps you’ve already added a new family member to the group! Pet adoption is something we hold very dear to our hearts here at We Sell Oklahoma. That is, we’d like to highlight a few animal rescue organizations that could be a great place to start your search.

Saving a Life With Love & Gratitude

Mutt Misfits Animal Rescue Society

This 501(c)3 non-profit organization takes on the hardship cases that nobody else wants. They pull pets from kill shelters who have medical problems, deformities, or other issues that make them difficult to adopt out. Their goal is to “save the unsaveable.” They are always looking for foster families and/or donations to help cover the cost of medical treatment. Chiefly, they work extremely hard to save the lives of as many animals as possible. Heather (Co-Founder/President), is the most kind-hearted human being you will ever meet! Along with her Husband, John, they keep fighting the good fight and saving lives. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram to stay up-to-date on the progress of each animal case.

1 Day Ranch

Located in Bethel Acres, Oklahoma, 1 Day Ranch is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization. They are dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of horses, small livestock, and dogs who have been the victims of abuse and neglect. To explain, once rehabilitated the animals are adopted out to new homes. Conversely, they could be re-trained to be a part of their on site therapy and education program. Equally important, 1 Day Ranch is funded entirely off of donations by the public. 1 Day is all it takes to change a life for the better! It’s your turn to help! Follow them on Facebook to see the daily life of a full time farm animal rescue operation. *Dolly the Llama makes for some pretty good laughs.

Central Oklahoma Humane Society

The Central Oklahoma Humane Society is the largest animal-related charity in the state of Oklahoma. It’s important to realize that their goal of eliminating euthanasia in our community is not an easy feat. In particular, they facilitate pet adoption, as well as spay and neuter animals that come through the shelter. Along with out-of-state pet relocation, community cat programs, and saving infants through their neonate nursery. COHS is an independent 501(c) 3 non-profit unaffiliated with the Humane Society of the United States. To clarify, they receive no government funding or tax dollars. Follow them on Facebook or visit www.okhumane.org to learn more.

Oklahoma City Animal Welfare

OKC Animal Welfare is a Division of the Development Services Department. Not to mention the only official animal shelter for Oklahoma City. Proud enforcers of quality of life issues, they promote humane ethics. OKC Animal Welfare envision a community where animals are valued & protected. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram for volunteer opportunities and pet adoptions!
